Maplewood NJ

This Storybook Tudor, as we affectionately named it, is deceptively large inside despite its quaint exterior. It boasts beautiful tree house views of NYC given its perch. Our clients moved to this home from a Jersey City apartment with a sofa, a bed, some fun travel art and a few folding chairs. As a designer there really is nothing better than a blank slate. We were so thrilled to be able to geek out on fabrics, playful lighting and lots and lots of wallpaper.

This was a project where we were hired to furnish the entire home. While we love construction projects, sometimes a “Just Furnishings” project is such a delight. Our clients were clear that they hired us because of our use of color. They loved that we weren’t afraid to use it and use it boldly. They wanted us to apply it in a timeless, elegant and playful way.

Our biggest obstacle in this project was narrowing the choices down to include in our presentation. They were up for a fun animal wallpaper and loved one more than the next. Often we present 2 options with dreams that clients will go for the bolder choice. In this project they did- again and again. Wallpaper on the ceiling? Love it! Eggplant colored sofa? Sure! Color drenched living room walls? Absolutely!

This project finished with a little bit of added scope- a nursery for their first child (photos to come soon….). It’s truly a privilege and joy to curate homes for our clients’ journeys.

We love living in this house. Upon looking at the professional pics, this is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. Looks incredible (even though we do look at it every day haha). Thank you again to you and your team for helping to make this our dream home for our family!
